Joining SYC is a great way to enjoying singing and make friends, as well as having the chance to develop singing skills.

There are 2 branches of the SYC, one reheasing at The Dialstone Centre, Stockport on Monday evenings, and one rehearsing at Tithe Barn Primary School, Heaton Mersey on Thursday at 4:30pm.

It’s brilliant! 

I met my best friend in the choir.

We sing a wide range of musical styles, and twice a year we sing with our parent choir, The Maia Singers, one of the North of England’s premier choirs.

The junior choir is open to boys and girls aged 7 to 11, and the senior section up to aged 11 to 16. At 16, singers are eligible to join The Maia Singers.

Concerts

Stockport Youth Choir will be singing at St Mary’s Church Hall in Reddish on Saturday 24th March from 3pm to 4:15pm. This concert is in aid of Church funds.

The date and venue for the Annual Concert have yet to be confirmed, but will be sometime in June.

We will also be joining The Maia Singers for the Sing Christmas concert at St Mary’s in the Marketplace, Stockport on Saturday 22nd December, from 7:30pm.

For Parents

Young singers get a great deal out of being part of our outstanding choral organisation. They get top professional help to develop their talent and also confidence from performing in front of an audience as part of a team.
