Henry George Page – Musical Director (Sept 2025 – )

Henry George Page (b. 1993) is no stranger to the choral world, having conducted choral ensembles and societies for over ten years and singing in a choir from the age of five! He works as a singer, composer,
accompanist and continuo cellist, having written for various ensembles, including collaborations with the BBC Singers; Devon Philharmonic Orchestra; House of Bedlam; CoMA; Nottingham Youth Orchestra; Leamington Sinfonia and Ludlow English Song Festival.
As a conductor and director, Henry is currently one of the principal conductors of the Saddleworth Musical Society, and regularly deputises for ensembles in the North-West, having formerly directed the Hacomblen Singers and at St Matthew at the Elephant on London’s Southbank. He has worked as a peripatetic singing teacher and accompanist at The Royal Ballet School’s White Lodge in Richmond and regularly accompanies for various singers; with Rebecca Anderson, he won the RNCM Emmanuel Prize.
As a performer, Henry maintains a diverse portfolio in singing, accompaniment, direction and continuo. He originated principal roles at the Grimeborn and Tête-à-Tête opera festivals, and appeared as Adonis in Blow’s Venus and Adonis (Ad Parnassum), Colonel Calverly in Patience, Counsel in Trial by Jury (NGSOC) for the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival, as well as participating in world premieres of works by composers including Roxanna Panufnik and Sir James MacMillan. A keen Bach exponent, he has appeared as Jesus in St John Passion with Tiffin Boys’ Choir; Trinity Laban Choir; Nottingham Bach Choir and Furness Bach Choir working with Ralph Allwood MBE and Simon Toyne. Henry currently maintains a role as a Bass Scholar St Olave’s, Hart Street, whilst also a regular member of the acclaimed Manchester ensemble KANTOS and the Italian-based group Ad Parnassum, where he specialises in Franco-Flemish polyphony.
He has a passion for making music accessible and is very excited to be leading the Maia Singers into a new era!
Anne Rees – Accompanist
Anne has extensive experience as an accompanist and as is an accomplished pianist in her own right. At rehearsals, when not playing, she can often be seen singing the alto part.
